with owners). It is ideally located for exploring the beautiful Languedoc region, with Narbonne and the Mediterranean 30 minutes drive. Nearest airports are Carcassonne, Montpellier, Nimes, Toulouse, Perpignan, and Barcelona. The TGV train service goes to Narbonne.

The Estival rentals are located in the quiet village of Ste Valiere, a short walk away from a recommended restaurant, on the edge of the village.
All the rentals share access via a landscaped Mediterranean garden - the large swimming pool (10m x 5m), with tile surround, and a outside shower. Ample sun loungers are provided for.

The House: - Living / Dining / Kitchen area
One enters directly into an open large kitchen / living / dining area that stretches the length of the house. The kitchen is equipped with a cooker with stove top, refrigerator, washing machine with good work surfaces; there is a dining table with seating for six; and at the back of the house is a settee facing a TV, next to French windows that open onto the back patio terrace.
Stairs lead up to the first floor landing with bathroom with shower, washbasin, and WC. To the front of the house is the master bedroom with 2 single beds that can be joined together to make a double, closet, and chest of drawers.
Stairs go up again to the second floor where there are 2 twin bedrooms, each with 2 single beds. Both bedrooms have overhead velux windows (with blinds); the front bedroom has a window overlooking the village.
French windows on the ground floor, open onto a tiled patio terrace with table and chairs with parasol providing shade.

The charming village of Ste Valiere is surrounded by pretty vineyards, and gentle hills, close to the Canal du Midi, and is 20 minutes from the famed Cathar village of Minerve astride the deep river gorges of the Minervois.
Accessed just off the D5 and centrally located between Beziers, Narbonne, and the medieval city of Carcassonne, and with Montpellier airport in easy reach, the village is ideally situated. There is a lovely new restaurant in the village, as well as vans that arrive daily to sell bread, meat, fish, and vegetables. Within 10 minutes drive there is a large supermarket. There are tennis courts in the village which can be hired by the hour. There are several golf courses all within 40 minutes drive from the village. Restaurants abound in the area, from gourmand to pizzeria.
Carcassonne
Half an hour's drive are the towns of Beziers (cathedral, museums, flower market, bull fighting, shops) and Narbonne (cathedral, roman sites, Sunday market, shops), both within 10 minutes of Mediterranean beaches that seem to go on for ever. Magnificent castles can be seen at Carcassonne - world renowned for its medieval cité, or a Peyrepertuse and Queribus where they cling to mountain tops with giddying views. Abbeys with angelic cloisters such as Fontfroide, near Narbonne (with Michelin * restaurant), and Lagrasse, set amongst the peaks of the Corbieres; and Elne towards the magical seaside resort of Collioure conjure up spiritual and architectural resonance.
ACCESS
Ste Valiere is close to Autoroute exits at Narbonne (20 minutes) at which there is a motorail terminal. International airports are at Toulouse (90 mins), Barcelona (135 mins): Montpellier (90 mins), Carcassonne & Perpignan (55 mins - to which RyanAir fly daily from Stansted, London). Eurostar, from Waterloo, London connects at Lille or Paris with TGV direct to Narbonne.
